German Chancellor Olaf Scholz recently visited the Festo stand at the HANNOVER MESSE fair, where he congratulated the company on its century-long success. Festo used the occasion to showcase its forward-looking approach, highlighting its commitment to innovation as it begins its next 100 years.
One of the key highlights for the Chancellor was Festo’s “Incredible Machine,” a fascinating display of movement powered by an “eMotion Butterfly.” The installation, inspired by the concept of a Rube Goldberg machine, doesn’t produce a tangible product but instead illustrates the evolving story of automation technology—a core element of Festo’s growth as a family-owned business.
Festo CEO Thomas Böck explained that the machine showcases the company’s wide-ranging expertise in automation technology, noting that creativity and innovation have been integral to Festo’s identity since its inception.
Böck shared with the Chancellor and his delegation that Festo remains optimistic about both the current financial year and its future. The company plans to continue prioritizing innovation, with a strong focus on research and development (R&D)—a strategy that has been key to its success for the past 100 years.
