Tata Power celebrated Earth Day by launching a week-long series of environmental activities in Uttar Pradesh through its EcoCrew program. Over 5,000 students from 12 schools in Mathura, Prayagraj, and Varanasi participated in workshops and interactive sessions aimed at promoting sustainability and raising environmental awareness.
The activities followed the Earth Day theme, “Our Power, Our Planet,” encouraging students to consider their role in protecting natural resources. These events were part of Tata Power’s Club Enerji initiative, one of India’s largest school-based environmental education programs. Topics discussed included climate change, energy efficiency, and the importance of renewable energy sources like solar power.
EcoCrew has reached more than 430 schools in the past, helping raise awareness and interest in sustainability among young people. This year’s Earth Day events continued this mission, combining education with creative activities.
One of the key highlights was the “Eco Pledge Ceremony,” where students from participating schools took part in the “Bano Nature ke BFF” activity. They pledged to adopt eco-friendly habits in their daily lives. Another event, the “Globey Imprint Activity,” saw students create a canvas artwork of the Earth using green and blue handprints, symbolizing their collective promise to care for the planet.
These Earth Day events are part of Tata Power’s broader initiative to reach over 1,000 schools across 24 cities in Uttar Pradesh. The company aims to involve more than 500,000 students in environmental education, aligning with its long-term sustainability goals.
Through campaigns like ‘Sustainable is Attainable’ and the Club Enerji program, Tata Power is committed to supporting India’s transition to cleaner energy while encouraging individuals and communities to contribute to a sustainable future.
