Bobcat has introduced the PG40 and PG50 portable generators, marking a significant advancement in portable power technology. These new models are powered by Stage V D24 engines and Stamford alternators, replacing the older Stage IIIA G40 and G60 units. The new generators offer increased power output and improved fuel efficiency.
The D24 engine in these generators is notably powerful, setting a new standard for machines of this size. This enhancement allows Bobcat to present the PG50 model with a genuine 50 kVA prime output without the need for a Diesel Exhaust Fluid system. Similarly, the PG40 model provides a 40 kVA prime power output.
Both generators boast a sleek, compact design and feature optional factory-mounted running gear, which can be adjusted to either fixed or variable height for easy transportation, such as towing behind a car. This upgrade enhances mobility and convenience on job sites.
One of the standout features is the ‘Liquid Heat’ low-load management system, designed to minimize downtime and extend engine life by efficiently handling lighter loads. This makes the PG40 and PG50 ideal investments for various job site applications.
The Stamford alternators continue the legacy started with the previously launched PG100 100 kVA generator. The mechanical and electrical configurations, along with most options, are consistent with those offered on the PG100, providing owners with the versatility they need.
The COMAP MRS16 controller is integral to the PG40 and PG50, featuring telematics options for remote location tracking and status monitoring. Building on the proven success of the PG100, these new models include a tested and reliable connection system, ensuring efficient setup and performance.
Both models are designed to operate quietly, with the PG40 achieving an LWA 88 sound power level and the PG50 an LWA 89, making them among the quietest generators available. Additionally, they are environmentally friendly, featuring a bunded base for 110% fluid containment to virtually eliminate spills and reduce maintenance.
Bobcat backs these generators with a comprehensive product warranty, technical training, and parts availability through their extensive dealer network. Notably, engine coverage for the PG40 and PG50 is managed directly by Bobcat’s network, eliminating third-party involvement and ensuring consistent support.
These new generators from Bobcat set a new benchmark in portable power, combining advanced technology with user-friendly features to meet the demands of modern job sites.
