Kherson Partners with USAID for Gas Piston Generators Supply

Kherson has secured an agreement with USAID for the supply of gas piston generators, aiming to bolster the city’s electric power resources. The Kherson Regional Military Administration (RMA) announced the development on Telegram, as reported by Ukrinform.

In a video conference, Anton Samoilenko, Deputy Head of the Kherson RMA, and representatives from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) discussed the installation of additional electric power sources in Kherson. The meeting concluded with an agreement on delivering gas piston generators to the city.

These generators are slated to provide electricity primarily for critical infrastructure, ensuring an uninterrupted heat supply during emergencies or scheduled power outages. Additionally, surplus electricity from these generators will be fed into the grid, alleviating power shortages during peak demand periods.

Samoilenko expressed his gratitude to Diana Korsakaite, head of USAID’s heat supply department, and her team for their cooperation and looked forward to continued collaboration.

The agreement comes at a crucial time, as Kherson is under frequent Russian shelling, which has resulted in civilian casualties and widespread damage to homes, businesses, and infrastructure, including energy and gas facilities.
