Firefighters rushed to the scene of a fire at a hotel along Tulum’s coast night, following an emergency call at 8:00 p.m. Three fire trucks and personnel from Civil Protection were dispatched to Kilometer 8 of the Tulum – Boca Paila highway, where a small building in front of a hotel was ablaze.
Upon arrival, firefighters found hotel employees attempting to control the flames. Benjamín Heredia Monforte, Director of the Tulum Municipal Fire Department, confirmed that the fire originated from an explosion in the hotel’s generator.
The firefighting team quickly brought the blaze under control, preventing it from spreading further. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and the fire was contained to the shed housing the power generator.
