Himoinsa, a leader in power technology solutions, has expanded its battery power storage and distribution systems lineup, introducing new models that reach up to 2 MW. The additions include the EHR 45/70 and EHR 45/90 in 50 Hz, and the EHR 30/70 and EHR 30/90 in 60 Hz, all housed in the EHR25 canopy. These upgrades enhance energy availability by up to 33% and boost storage capacity by accommodating eight extra battery modules within the unit’s increased height.
“We are committed to continuous innovation, recognizing the market’s need for diverse and complementary battery systems,” said Agustín Rodrigo, Himoinsa’s storage and battery systems product manager. “Each sector demands specific storage capacities and power outputs in units of various sizes. That’s why we offer a comprehensive portfolio extending to 2 MW.”
Key Sectors and Applications
The EHR | Battery Power Generator systems are particularly beneficial for construction projects, where they support low load profile equipment such as generator sets and cranes. Rodrigo emphasized that “with this equipment, we can significantly reduce both consumption and maintenance, directly impacting emissions by cutting them up to 50%.”
Advanced Battery Technology
The systems are equipped with lithium ferrophosphate batteries, enabling independent operation with zero noise and emissions. These batteries can integrate with diesel or gas generator sets, connect to the public electricity grid, or incorporate renewable energy sources like solar panels, enhancing power efficiency and minimizing emissions and noise. The batteries are designed for a lifespan of 6,000 cycles, equating to about five years with daily use.
HiCore System
Himoinsa’s proprietary HiCore System technology is a standout feature, selecting the optimal power source based on each load situation. This results in a more efficient and environmentally friendly power solution, prioritizing increased efficiency, reduced emissions, sustainability, and optimized energy resources.
Versatile Operational Modes
The EHR systems offer pre-set work modes tailored to different applications, including Plug & Play, Low Loads, Peak Shaving, UPS, load sharing, and Power Booster—designed specifically for the torque start-up of electric engines. The new models maintain the user-friendliness, robustness, and connectivity of the smaller capacity units and will feature automatic bypass operation. This function ensures a continuous power supply by connecting the main power source (generator set or grid) to the load in case of an alarm-triggered shutdown, a feature available across all existing models.
Future Developments
Looking ahead, Himoinsa plans to introduce additional models to the EHR family in early 2025, including the EHR 60/100 and 90/130 in 50 Hz, and the EHR 60/100 and 90/130 in 60 Hz, with power outputs up to 90 kVA. These developments will continue to bolster Himoinsa’s position in the market, providing versatile and efficient power solutions for a range of applications.
