Archimedes Defense, renowned for its high-performance power generators designed for government use, has unveiled a groundbreaking addition to the Tesla Cybertruck: a versatile generator capable of operating on jet fuel, diesel, and biodiesel. This innovative generator, dubbed the Genset, is engineered to fit seamlessly into the Cybertruck’s front trunk and offers a robust charging capability of up to 125 kW. Additionally, it includes a cable for charging other electric vehicles (EVs) and supports Tesla’s proprietary NACS connector, with adaptors available for non-NACS vehicles.

In tandem with this generator, Archimedes Defense has developed a series of protective upgrades for the Cybertruck, catering to both civilian and military applications. These enhancements, branded as Sting and developed in collaboration with Tesla tuner Unplugged Performance, are available in three progressive packages offering escalating levels of protection.

The base Sting Baja package integrates Starlink connectivity, courtesy of Tesla CEO Elon Musk, with the satellite receiver mounted in the vehicle’s bed. This package also includes the aforementioned generator.

For those seeking heightened defense capabilities, Archimedes offers two additional packages. The Sting Protector package is equipped with an off-road kit and steel armor that can withstand 7.62-millimeter assault rifle fire, making it suitable for environments with moderate threats.

The Sting APC package represents the pinnacle of protection, featuring advanced steel and armor plating designed to shield occupants from 14.5-mm heavy machine gun rounds, as well as protection against improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and mines. This package is aimed at users operating in high-threat areas.

Details regarding the pricing of these upgrades have not been disclosed.

Meanwhile, Tesla is preparing to introduce a range extender for the Cybertruck. This extender, expected to be available in early 2025, will be a battery unit roughly the size of a toolbox, positioned against the back of the cab. Priced at approximately $16,000, the range extender is anticipated to boost the Cybertruck’s total range to 470 miles.

The Cybertruck’s starting price has recently surged to nearly $100,000. The previous rear-wheel drive model, originally priced just above $60,000, is no longer listed on Tesla’s website. The current base model features all-wheel drive, a peak power output of 600 hp, and an estimated range of 318 miles. With the upcoming range extender, Tesla aims to enhance the vehicle’s range and overall performance.
