Atlas Copco has announced plans to acquire Generator Rental Services Limited (GRS), a leading provider of specialized power rental solutions based in Auckland. The acquisition, set to be finalized in the third quarter of 2024, will integrate GRS into Atlas Copco’s Power Technique business area, specifically within its specialty rental division.
GRS, which employs 58 people, reported revenues of €23 million in its last fiscal year. The company is renowned for its specialty power and temperature control equipment, serving key sectors including power utilities, general industry, and civil construction.
Andrew Walker, President of Atlas Copco’s Power Technique business, emphasized the strategic importance of the acquisition, stating, “The specialty power rental market is a highly technical and regulated sector, driven by the growing complexity of technologies required to meet the increasing demand for electrification. This acquisition not only enhances our market expertise but also establishes a growth platform and competence center for the entire Oceania region.”
The transaction is expected to be completed by the end of the third quarter of 2024, marking a significant expansion for Atlas Copco in the specialty power rental market.
