Volvo Trucks Unveils Electric FH Model with 600-Kilometer Range for Long-Distance Hauling

by sthv

Volvo Trucks has announced plans to introduce a long-range version of its FH Electric truck, which will be capable of traveling up to 600 kilometers on a single charge. The extended range will allow transport companies to operate the vehicle on interregional and long-distance routes, making it feasible for drivers to complete a full workday without needing to recharge.

Key to this extended range is Volvo’s new e-axle technology, which optimizes the truck’s driveline and creates additional space for significantly more battery capacity. Enhanced battery efficiency, an improved battery management system, and overall powertrain optimization also contribute to the truck’s increased range.

Slated for release in the second half of 2025, the long-range FH Electric will join Volvo’s current lineup of eight battery-electric truck models, expanding the company’s offerings for zero-emission transportation solutions.

“Our new electric flagship will be an excellent addition to our wide range of electric trucks, enabling zero-exhaust emission transport even for longer distances,” said Roger Alm, President of Volvo Trucks. “It’s a perfect solution for transport companies with high annual mileage and a strong commitment to reducing CO2 emissions.”
