FPT Industrial has officially commenced the production of its F28 engine in India, marking a significant step in expanding its footprint in the region.
The F28 engine, designed for use in construction and agricultural machinery, will be assembled at CNH Greater Noida, located in Uttar Pradesh, south-east of New Delhi. This new initiative is in line with India’s TREM 5 emissions standards, aimed at enhancing efficiency and sustainability in local equipment.
The production facility will be equipped with a new assembly line installed in a newly renovated building within the Greater Noida complex. This move is strategically timed to align with the upcoming Stage 5 CEV regulations for construction equipment, set to take effect by the end of 2024. The Stage 5 TREM standards for agricultural equipment will be implemented starting April 2026.
The F28 engine will power New Holland tractors manufactured at the Greater Noida plant and will also be featured in Case Construction Equipment produced at the Pithampur facility in Madhya Pradesh.
Eugenia Valente, Vice President for Asia and ANZ at FPT Industrial, highlighted the significance of the new agreement: “This license agreement further cements the strong relationship between FPT Industrial and CNH. It’s a mutually beneficial arrangement, allowing CNH to better meet local market needs and providing FPT Industrial with a significant growth opportunity in the region.”
The diesel F28 engines come with a range of power outputs from 37 to 75 kW and offer customization options including different flywheels, housings, oil pans, and filters. The engine features one-side servicing and a 600-hour oil change interval, designed to enhance uptime and reduce operating costs.
