MTA, a prominent supplier of electrical and electronic components, is making its debut at the IAA Transportation trade show in Hanover, Germany, from September 17 to 22. The company is showcasing a new array of wireless communication technologies tailored for the truck industry, serving both OEM and aftermarket applications.
This expanded connectivity portfolio is a result of MTA’s recent acquisition of a business unit from Calearo Antenne S.p.A., a firm with nearly 70 years of expertise in developing reception systems, including antennas, amplifiers, and cables.
Antonio Falchetti, Executive Director of MTA, emphasized the significance of this new offering: “With this range of antennas and other electronic components, MTA reinforces its commitment to advancing technologies that position us as a ‘one-stop shop’ for components integral to the electric and electronic architecture of vehicles.”
MTA’s antennas are designed to integrate various communication technologies that enhance entertainment, safety, and interconnectivity within trucks. The multifunctional rooftop antenna optimizes signal reception and can be seamlessly integrated into the vehicle’s design or discreetly positioned within the windscreen, bumper, or rearview mirrors.
Key features include support for 5G mobile connectivity, Vehicle-to-X (V2X) communication, Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS), Wi-Fi up to 6 GHz, Bluetooth, and the reception of analogue, digital, and satellite radio services.
The antennas are developed in MTA’s state-of-the-art laboratory in Isola Vicentina (Vicenza), with production facilities located in both Italy and Mexico, ensuring robust support for customers across European and NAFTA markets.
