Eaton Cummins Automated Transmission Technologies, the joint venture formed in 2017 between Eaton and Cummins, has appointed a new leadership team to guide its operations in producing and marketing heavy-duty automated transmissions for commercial vehicles. This shift in leadership comes as the roles of general manager, deputy general manager, and chief financial officer have rotated among representatives from the parent companies every few years.
Starting in October, James Taylor will assume the role of general manager. With over 20 years of experience in the Cummins Drivetrain and Braking Systems business unit, Taylor has previously served as the executive director of North America Commercial. In that capacity, he was responsible for leading the Sales and Service organization, overseeing commercial agreements, and nurturing strategic customer relationships.
Christy Roadknight has been appointed as the deputy general manager. A veteran of Eaton since 2000, she began her career as a product engineer and has since held various positions in sales, operations management, and product strategy. Most recently, Roadknight served as the global business unit director for Fuel Emissions and Boosting within Eaton’s Mobility Group.
Genoveva Alba will step into the role of chief financial officer on December 1. Having joined Eaton in 2008, Alba has climbed through the ranks and currently holds the position of regional director for Finance Transformation in Eaton’s Electrical Sector Americas.
Outgoing general manager Waldek Gardzielewski expressed confidence in the new leadership team, stating, “I am confident that James and the new leadership team will continue to deliver powertrain solutions that enhance performance, reliability, and fuel efficiency. I am excited for the future under this dynamic leadership team and look forward to continuing our legacy of excellence.”
