Kyiv authorities have developed new regulations for generator use in the city. Deputy Mayor and Secretary of the Kyiv City Council, Volodymyr Bondarenko, announced that these unified recommendations will be finalized by the end of the year. The collection of rules began on September 12 and will be presented at a Kyiv City Council meeting for approval.
Importantly, the city will not impose fines on generator owners for landscaping violations. To date, no fines have been issued under Article 152 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses.
However, inspections of generators will continue. The State Emergency Service, the State Consumer Service, and Energonadzor will oversee these inspections. According to Bondarenko, these measures are essential for safety, as improper connections of generators to residential buildings can cause fires or other accidents.
Additionally, the Kyiv City State Administration (KMDA) previously addressed concerns about GSM communication during blackouts.
