Authorities in Cyprus have arrested three men in connection with a series of generator thefts. The arrests took place on Thursday and are linked to 28 thefts that occurred between August 2023 and October 2024.
The suspects, aged 54, 48, and 41, were apprehended during a coordinated operation in the Larnaca and Famagusta districts. Police recovered 20 generators, 14 metal grids, and a tractor believed to be stolen during searches of the suspects’ homes and vehicles.
The operation involved the Criminal Investigation Departments from Nicosia, Larnaca, and Famagusta, as well as the Kofinou Police Station and British Bases Police.
The three men are set to appear in court today to face a detention order. The investigation is ongoing, led by Larnaca’s Criminal Investigation Department.
