A mobile home on Bridgid Street suffered significant damage on Sunday afternoon when a generator caught fire, according to the Lafayette Fire Department.
Firefighters arrived at the scene just before 1:30 p.m. The fire department’s public information officer, Alton Trahan, explained that the occupants were in the process of moving out and were using a generator to power the home.
The fire started in the generator and then spread to the mobile home. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
