Motorenfabrik Hatz and Hatz Americas Inc. have broadened their power generation offerings with the introduction of new AC and DC mobile diesel generators, designed for both the recreational vehicle (RV) and industrial sectors. These new products will provide prepackaged, sound-attenuated solutions for reliable power generation and hybrid battery charging applications.
This product expansion follows Hatz’s recent acquisition of the rights to the products, patents, drawings, and inventory for RV generators previously produced by Dometic Italy SpA. Hatz has been supplying diesel engines for Dometic’s RV generator sets since 2002, delivering over 30,000 engines to date.
The 1B30VE engines used in these new generators will continue to be manufactured and tested at Hatz’s primary engine plant in Ruhstorf, Germany. Final assembly of the generator sets will be carried out at Hatz’s new production facility in Italy.
Mike Hartoonian, President and CEO of Hatz Americas Inc., expressed excitement about bringing the production of these gen-set models fully in-house. He noted, “The AC version will ensure an uninterrupted supply of a 50-state legal model for the RV market and related sectors, while the new DC versions reinforce Hatz’s position as a leader in diesel/electric hybrid applications.”
