The Oceanside Protection Society and OVERT have announced a successful fundraising campaign, raising a total of $7,075 over the past two weeks—exceeding their $6,000 goal for the year-end drive. The funds will be used to purchase a generator for the Oceanside Chapel emergency assembly and assistance center.
Rob Hoeper, Co-chair of OVERT, stated that any additional funds will be allocated for installation costs and future generator supplies. The response to the campaign has been overwhelming, with strong community support.
Upon hearing the news, Netarts-Oceanside Fire Chief Jeff McBrayer expressed his gratitude, saying, “This is incredible! Thanks to everyone for this incredible support!”
The Fire Department has also committed to covering the ongoing maintenance costs for the new generator, in addition to maintaining the generators at the two fire stations in the area.
