In a powerful display of compassion, Greatness In You (GIU), a U.S.-based international nonprofit, has made a significant contribution to improving healthcare in Ghana’s Eastern Region. The organization recently donated a 7.5 KVA generator to the Oyoko Clinic, addressing the clinic’s long-standing issue with unreliable electricity.
The donation ceremony, filled with emotion and hope, attracted prominent local leaders, including Nana Sempe Bonsu II, the Chief of Oyoko, the Queen Mother, and hundreds of community members. Their attendance underscored the urgent need for improved healthcare infrastructure in the region.
Improving Healthcare Through Reliable Power
For years, the clinic has faced disruptions due to power outages, which have forced it to refer patients to St. Joseph’s Hospital and the Regional Hospital in Koforidua, often leading to critical delays. The new generator promises to stabilize power supply, enabling the clinic to operate smoothly and continue serving its community without interruption.
Kwabena Kesse, the Founder and President of GIU, who hails from Oyoko, shared an emotional message at the ceremony. Joined by GIU Executive Board Members Dr. Kobina Amoah, Nana Obiri Boateng, and GIU African Region Ambassador Louis Boakye, Kesse addressed the crowd with heartfelt sincerity.
“My mission is to give back to my community in as many ways as possible,” Kesse stated, his voice filled with emotion. “At GIU, we believe sponsorships are one of the most impactful ways to build society. Today, we’re not just donating a generator; we’re ensuring this clinic, which is a lifeline for so many, can operate smoothly during power outages. For the next 24 months, GIU will maintain and service this generator to ensure it remains in optimal condition before the clinic assumes full responsibility for its upkeep.”
A Long-Term Commitment to the Community
This donation is part of GIU’s ongoing mission to make a lasting difference in communities across the world. The organization’s commitment to maintaining the generator for the next two years underscores its dedication to supporting healthcare facilities in underserved regions and improving the lives of countless individuals.
