A portion of the University of Kansas St. Francis campus will continue to operate on generator power after a hardware failure occurred on Thursday evening.
On Friday, the hospital kitchen temporarily used limited power while attempting to restore the facility’s primary power supply. However, the kitchen has since resumed full service.
Staff are closely monitoring temperatures in patient rooms to ensure comfort, while taking additional measures as needed. A few inpatient rooms are currently without overhead lighting and are using temporary solutions. The hospital is actively working with industry experts to restore the primary power supply.
