Alleima, a leading materials technology company, has announced a significant order for steam generator tubing (SGT) in the nuclear energy sector. The order, valued at approximately SEK 530 million, underscores the growing demand for its advanced products. To address this demand, Alleima recently revealed plans to reopen one of its SGT production facilities in Sandviken, Sweden, to boost manufacturing capacity.
The contract was awarded by a top global supplier of nuclear equipment for a project at a nuclear power plant in North America. The order is set to be completed in the first quarter of 2025 and will be recorded under the company’s Piping Division. Deliveries are scheduled to take place in 2027 and 2028.
Nige Haworth, President of the Energy Business Unit at Alleima’s Piping Division, commented on the development: “The demand for our high-quality steam generator tubing continues to rise, and we are honored to remain a trusted partner for our customers. This order not only strengthens our order book but also provides clear visibility for deliveries from both our current and expanded production capabilities. Additionally, we are actively engaged in discussions for several future projects.”
The reopening of the Sandviken plant highlights Alleima’s commitment to meeting the increasing needs of the nuclear energy sector while supporting long-term growth in its operations.
