Turkish Firm CANiK to Supply Heavy Machine Guns to Brazil

Turkish arms manufacturer CANiK has secured a deal to export 200 units of its Mi2HB Quick Change Barrel (QCB) 12.7x99mm Heavy Machine Guns to Brazil. The weapons will be integrated into the Brazilian Army’s ARES REMAX 3 and WE Platt MR550 remote-controlled and manual-controlled weapon stations. These stations will be mounted on the Guarani 6×6 and Guaicurus 4×4 armored vehicles.

According to report, the M2HB QCB machine guns will be utilized by the Brazilian Armed Forces. The initial phase of the agreement involves the delivery of 200 units at a cost of $3.1 million. The M2HB QCBs are compatible with NATO-standard 12.7x99mm ammunition, ensuring interoperability with existing military systems.

The acceptance process for the machine guns is expected to be finalized by the first quarter of 2025. This deal marks a significant milestone as the first major defense cooperation agreement between a Turkish company and Brazil. It also highlights CANiK’s growing influence in the global defense market, bolstered by strategic international partnerships.
