Clean Electric has introduced a revolutionary rapid charging system for light electric vehicles (LEVs) at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025. This cutting-edge technology, compliant with the Standardized Open Network Type-6 BIS Approved Charging Standard, allows EVs to charge in just 15 minutes. The system aims to tackle major barriers to EV adoption in India, such as slow charging speeds and inconsistent infrastructure.
The company has partnered with vehicle manufacturers Bounce and Omega Seiki Mobility to integrate this technology into their electric vehicles. Bounce will incorporate the system into its two-wheelers, offering a range of 60–80 km after a 15–20 minute charge. Omega Seiki Mobility plans to use it in its three-wheelers, which will achieve a range of 125 km, and in its 7-ton electric trucks, both benefiting from the same rapid charging capability.
Mass production of the charging system is scheduled to begin in March 2025, with plans to deploy it at public charging stations across India. Clean Electric is collaborating closely with vehicle manufacturers to ensure smooth integration, making it easier for both individual users and commercial fleet operators to adopt the technology.
This innovation aligns with India’s goal of achieving 80% EV penetration in the LEV sector by 2030. By providing faster and universally compatible charging, the system addresses challenges like inconsistent standards and inadequate infrastructure. It aims to create a more efficient and unified EV ecosystem, benefiting both users and charging station operators.
The introduction of this rapid charging solution marks a significant step forward in India’s transition to electric mobility, offering a practical and scalable solution to accelerate EV adoption nationwide.
