Radii Planet Group, a global manufacturer of aluminum partitions, has adopted Flightpath Pro, an innovative software developed by coatingAI in collaboration with AkzoNobel Powder Coatings. This cutting-edge tool is designed to enhance coating line performance and improve product quality, making Radii Planet Group one of the first companies to leverage this technology.
Flightpath Pro ensures a more uniform and consistent coating application by addressing variations in spray patterns caused by factors such as distance, reciprocator speed, and powder type. The software enables businesses to make small, incremental adjustments to their powder coating processes, which collectively result in a significant competitive edge.
By implementing Flightpath Pro and leveraging the technical expertise and support of AkzoNobel’s Interpon team, Radii Planet Group has achieved a 9.3% improvement in coating uniformity and reduced powder waste by over 6%. Additionally, the software has minimized the need for reworking or rejecting products, contributing to greater sustainability and cost efficiency.
Alex Vlase, Production Manager at Radii Planet Group, highlighted the software’s role in validating coating line performance. “We knew our process was strong, but we’re always striving for improvement. Using Flightpath Pro as part of our regular health checks has been instrumental in this effort,” he said.
Remco Maassen van den Brink, Marketing Director at AkzoNobel Powder Coatings, emphasized the value of collaboration and innovation. “Our partnerships with customers are built on proven product performance, expert advice, and a commitment to innovation like Flightpath Pro. Even small improvements can have a major impact on overall performance. For Radii Planet Group, this technology is helping them elevate their already high standards,” he added.
The adoption of Flightpath Pro underscores the growing role of AI in industrial processes, delivering tangible benefits in efficiency, quality, and sustainability.
