CHICAGO – KUKA Robotics is set to unveil its latest innovation, the KMP 3000P autonomous mobile robot (AMR), at PROMAT 2025, held March 17–20 at McCormick Place. The event will also feature KUKA’s cutting-edge pick-and-place material handling solutions, designed to boost efficiency and productivity in manufacturing.
Visitors to KUKA’s booth (#N7307, Hall B, North Building) will witness two robotic cell demonstrations. The first will highlight the KMP 3000P AMR, a heavyweight robot capable of transporting loads up to three tons. The KMP 3000P will work alongside the KR QUANTEC robot, showcasing seamless material handling in industrial settings.
The second demonstration will feature the KUKA LBR iisy cobot and the KMP 600P AMR. Attendees can interact with the system via a tablet to select a giveaway item, which the cobot will pick, place, and deliver using the AMR.
KMP 3000P: Power and Precision
The KMP 3000P is designed for heavy-duty intralogistics, offering unmatched flexibility with its omnidirectional drive system. It can navigate tight spaces and transport loads in any direction, including diagonally. Equipped with four 3D cameras and two laser scanners, the AMR provides a 360° view, enabling it to detect and avoid obstacles effortlessly. This enhances both safety and efficiency, eliminating the need for in-floor guide systems.
The KMP 3000P also features an inductive charging system, allowing it to charge wirelessly at designated stations or multiple locations within a facility.
KR QUANTEC: Speed and Safety
The KR QUANTEC robot, paired with the KMP 3000P, is equipped with AIRSKIN technology, enabling it to operate safely at high speeds in fenceless environments. Known for its versatility, the KR QUANTEC series is a six-axis robot capable of handling a wide range of production tasks with precision and reliability.
Interactive Experience with LBR iisy and KMP 600P
The second demonstration will showcase the KUKA LBR iisy cobot, a lightweight, six-axis robot with a payload of 11 kg. Designed for ease of use, the LBR iisy can be quickly commissioned with minimal programming knowledge. It features intuitive manual guidance and a smartPAD pro teach pendant for seamless operation.
The KMP 600P AMR, the most compact model in KUKA’s P series, is ideal for confined spaces. With a 600-kg payload, it efficiently transports materials between warehouses, workstations, and assembly lines.
Expert Insights on Mobile Robotics
KUKA Business Development Manager Denise Stafford will present “How Mobile Robots Have Evolved: Lessons Learned from a Decade of Use” on Monday, March 17, from 3:00 to 3:45 p.m. at Theater I in Hall A, South Building. The session will guide attendees in selecting the right robotic solutions for their operational challenges.
