VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV), a joint venture between Volvo Group and Eicher Motors, has teamed up with Baidyanath LNG Pvt Ltd to introduce 500 Eicher Pro 6055 LNG trucks. The deal was finalized at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, signaling a major push toward using liquefied natural gas (LNG) for long-distance transport and creating LNG corridors in Central India.
This partnership builds on an earlier agreement made in August 2024 when Baidyanath LNG opened its Nagpur station and launched the first fleet of Eicher Pro 6055 LNG trucks. Together, the companies aim to grow India’s LNG infrastructure by deploying LNG trucks with fleet operators, offering training on LNG technology, and setting up a dependable network of LNG fueling stations. The goal is to encourage cleaner and more efficient transport solutions.
The Eicher Pro 6055 LNG truck is equipped with cutting-edge Volvo Group engine technology. It boasts a VEGX8 6-cylinder engine that delivers 260 HP and 1000 Nm of torque. The truck also features a comfortable air-suspended driver seat, an HVAC system, and advanced telematics for vehicle management and predictive diagnostics. These features can be accessed through the My Eicher app and Uptime Centre.
This collaboration reflects VECV’s dedication to providing eco-friendly solutions for India’s long-haul trucking industry. With more than 1,000 service points nationwide, VECV ensures robust support for its customers.
Founded in 2008, VECV manufactures and sells Eicher trucks and buses both in India and abroad, while also distributing Volvo Trucks in India. Its partnership with Baidyanath LNG highlights its focus on modernizing India’s commercial transport sector.
