Bengaluru-based drone manufacturer, Scandron, has unveiled its latest innovation, the CargoMax 20KHC, at Aero India 2025. This powerful cargo drone is capable of carrying up to 200kg of payload, making it the most powerful drone of its kind in India. Designed to improve aerial logistics, particularly for the Indian Armed Forces, the fully autonomous CargoMax 20KHC offers a 15km operational range and can reach a ceiling of 6000 meters above mean sea level (AMSL).
Scandron’s CargoMax series also includes specialized versions designed for high-altitude, desert, and naval operations, ensuring the drone can operate in a variety of environments. In addition to the CargoMax, Scandron is showcasing the SkyKrane 40 Aerial Crane and its ScanD suite of surveillance drones, expanding its role in the growing drone industry.
The CargoMax series reflects India’s growing self-reliance in drone technology, aiming to reduce the country’s dependency on imported drones. This development positions India as a leader in aerial logistics innovation. These drones are built for both urban and remote area use, streamlining operations in sectors such as defense, logistics, and disaster relief.
Built for autonomous operations, CargoMax drones feature a robust command and control system with redundancy layers to ensure operational safety, stability, and reliability. These drones have several key applications in critical sectors. In high-altitude logistics, they support last-mile deliveries above 5500 meters AMSL, crucial for Indian Army operations. The drones are also engineered for naval and island operations, enabling precise landings on moving platforms, making them ideal for naval resupply missions. Additionally, the drones improve efficiency in supply chain logistics by enhancing mid-mile logistics and streamlining warehouse-to-warehouse transport.
The drones also play a significant role in disaster relief efforts, working with the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) to deliver heavy-lift emergency supplies to disaster-stricken areas quickly and efficiently. Their versatility in challenging environments makes them valuable in both military and humanitarian applications.
Scandron’s CargoMax drones are future-ready and customizable, evolving to meet the needs of various commercial and defense sectors. These adaptable drones offer tailored solutions across different industries.
Arjun Naik, CEO and Founder of Scandron, spoke about the company’s vision: “At Scandron, we are committed to designing and developing disruptive drone solutions that solve real-world challenges. Our focus is on integrating drones into mainstream operations to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and maintain safety and reliability.”
