AKSI Aerospace Group and FIXAR Global have announced a strategic partnership to manufacture drones in India. The deal, valued at up to Rs 85 crore, marks a significant step in India’s push to become self-reliant in drone production and a global manufacturing hub.
Pankaj Akula, CEO and Chairperson of AKSI Aerospace, highlighted the importance of the collaboration. “This partnership strengthens India’s drone industry and supports our goal of reducing dependency on foreign imports,” he said.
Under the agreement, AKSI Aerospace will produce drones for both domestic and international markets. The company will leverage its expertise in developing critical drone components, such as navigation systems, propulsion units, batteries, airframe composites, and imaging systems. By manufacturing these parts locally, AKSI aims to ensure high-quality, secure, and cost-effective drone production.
FIXAR Global, a leader in software and aircraft design, brings its global experience to the partnership. The company’s autonomous drones are widely used for industrial applications across North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Through this collaboration, FIXAR will expand its manufacturing footprint in India, utilizing AKSI’s advanced production facilities, quality control systems, and training and maintenance capabilities.
AKSI Aerospace Group is a key player in India’s aerospace and defense sector. The company specializes in designing and manufacturing high-precision components for aircraft, satellites, and defense systems. It works closely with prominent organizations like the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and the Defense Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), contributing to India’s self-reliance in aerospace technology.
