Safran Aircraft Engines, a prominent French engine manufacturer, has signed a contract with Titan Engineering and Automation Limited (TEAL) at Aero India to produce parts for the LEAP engine’s low-pressure turbine. This partnership, which marks the first collaboration between the two companies, aims to strengthen the production of LEAP engine components in India. The production of the first parts is expected to begin in 2026.
The agreement supports India’s “Make in India” initiative, which seeks to boost the country’s aerospace industry. As part of its strategy, Safran Aircraft Engines is building a robust industrial network in India. The company is collaborating with local partners to enhance production of both the LEAP engine and the M88 engine, which powers the Rafale fighter jet.
Sridhar Neelakantan, CEO of TEAL, expressed pride in the new partnership, saying, “This collaboration highlights our ability to manufacture complex components and solidifies our role in the aerospace supply chain.”
Dominique Dupuy, Purchasing VP at Safran Aircraft Engines, said, “We are excited to partner with TEAL, marking a key step in expanding our operations and developing local supply chains in India.”
Safran Aircraft Engines is further strengthening its presence in India, where it currently operates five production facilities in Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Goa. In 2025, the company will open a sixth facility in Hyderabad, dedicated to LEAP engine maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services.
