Waaree Renewable Technologies Limited (WRTL) has been awarded a major contract by Continuum Green Energy Limited for a 40 MWhr battery storage project. The project, worth INR 40 crores, will be developed at wind-solar hybrid sites in Gujarat.
The contract involves the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) of the project. WRTL will use advanced lithium iron phosphate (LFP) liquid-cooled containerized Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) technology. The project will be executed under a Lump Sum Turnkey agreement, where WRTL will integrate the battery storage system into the existing solar project. This move reinforces WRTL’s position as a leading full-scale EPC provider in the renewable energy sector.
Viren Doshi, Director of WRTL, commented on the project’s importance, saying, “This project will improve the efficiency and reliability of renewable energy in Gujarat. By deploying advanced energy storage solutions, we aim to meet the rising demand for sustainable power. This repeat order reflects our customers’ trust in our ability to deliver projects on time and within budget.”
Arvind Bansal, CEO of Continuum Green Energy Limited, also shared his thoughts, stating, “Adding energy storage to our wind-solar hybrid projects is a significant step toward providing reliable renewable energy for industrial consumers. WRTL’s commitment to excellence and timely delivery aligns with our goal of building a greener future.”
The project highlights the growing importance of energy storage in India’s renewable energy landscape and underscores the collaboration between WRTL and Continuum Green Energy in advancing sustainable energy solutions.
