Sineng Electric, a global leader in solar and energy storage solutions, has successfully energized a 661 MW (925 MWp) solar project in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh. This operational milestone marks a significant step forward in India’s ambitious renewable energy transition.
India aims to achieve 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030 and net-zero emissions by 2070. To support this goal, the country is rapidly scaling up its renewable energy infrastructure. The newly commissioned solar project is part of ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India’s 975 MW hybrid renewable energy system, which combines 661 MW (925 MWp) of solar power with 314 MW of wind energy.
For this landmark initiative, Sineng Electric supplied 184 units of its advanced 3.3 MW central inverters (EP-3300-HB-UD), contributing a total of 606 MWac. These inverters, designed for high efficiency (up to 99%), utilize three-level topology technology to maximize energy output and reduce the Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE). Built to withstand extreme conditions, the inverters operate reliably in ambient temperatures as high as 51°C, ensuring consistent performance in challenging environments.
Sineng Electric played a pivotal role in the project’s success, ensuring timely equipment delivery and providing on-site engineering support. The company’s localization strategy—spanning production, marketing, and customer service—further strengthens its commitment to India’s renewable energy sector.
John Hu, General Manager of Sineng Electric’s International Department, emphasized the project’s importance, stating, “We are proud to contribute to this milestone project with our advanced inverter technology. Our solutions, known for their efficiency and compliance with India’s latest grid standards, are ideal for large-scale solar installations. This project demonstrates how renewable energy can drive industrial decarbonization while fostering sustainability and economic growth.”
As a global innovator, Sineng Electric offers a wide range of products, including PV inverters, energy storage inverters, and power quality solutions. With four R&D centers and a strong focus on innovation, the company continues to deliver cost-effective, reliable, and sustainable energy solutions worldwide. Recognized as a BloombergNEF Tier 1 PV inverter manufacturer and ranked among the top four in global PV inverter market share, Sineng Electric remains a key player in the global solar energy revolution.
