Kolkata-based Vikram Solar, a leading player in the renewable energy sector, has expanded its solar photovoltaic (PV) module manufacturing capacity by 1 gigawatt (GW) at its Falta facility in West Bengal. The company has also upgraded its Oragadam facility in Chennai, enabling the production of advanced TOPCon and HJT modules, which are known for their higher efficiency.
With these developments, Vikram Solar’s total annual production capacity has risen to 4.5 GW, marking a significant step in the company’s growth trajectory. The Falta expansion, which began with equipment installation on December 5, 2024, has successfully added 1 GW to its capacity. Simultaneously, the Chennai facility upgrade, initiated on July 19, 2024, has enhanced the company’s ability to manufacture cutting-edge solar modules.
Gyanesh Chaudhary, Chairman and Managing Director of Vikram Solar, commented on the expansion, saying, “These projects incorporate advanced manufacturing techniques, ensuring efficiency, quality, and compliance with global sustainability standards.”
