Tata Power-Led Odisha Discoms Secure Top A+ Ratings in National Power Utility Rankings for FY24

Tata Power’s distribution companies (Discoms) in Odisha have been ranked among India’s top-performing power utilities, earning A+ ratings in the Ministry of Power’s annual evaluation for the financial year 2023-24. The rankings, which assess utilities on financial sustainability, operational performance, and external environment factors, were announced during a Regional Review Meeting held in New Delhi.

The event, presided over by the Hon’ble Union Minister of Power and Housing & Urban Affairs, Shri Manohar Lal, saw the release of three key reports: the 13th Integrated Ratings of 63 Distribution Utilities, the 4th Edition of the Consumer Services Rating of DISCOMs (CSRD) Report, and the inaugural Distribution Utilities Ranking (DUR) Report.

Tata Power’s Odisha Discoms—TPCODL, TPNODL, and TPWODL—retained their A+ ratings in the 13th Integrated Ratings, showcasing their strong operational efficiency and financial health. These utilities, operated in partnership with the Government of Odisha, are seen as a successful example of public-private collaboration in the power distribution sector.

In addition, Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (TPDDL) and Tata Power Company Limited (TPCL) Mumbai also achieved the highest A+ grade in the CSRD report, underscoring Tata Power’s commitment to exceptional consumer service. The first-ever DUR report further highlighted Tata Power’s leadership, with TPWODL topping the Distribution Utilities category and TPDDL being recognized as a leading urban Discom.
