Students and staff at Okanagan College can now enjoy a slice of innovation with the launch of Pizzaforno, the Okanagan’s first-ever pizza vending machine.
Located at the Skaha Place student residence on campus, the machine serves hot, freshly made pizzas around the clock. It offers a quick and convenient meal option for busy students and staff.
Customers can choose and customize their pizza, which is then prepared, cooked, and ready to eat in just three minutes.
Ayush Pal, the owner of the Kelowna Pizzaforno location, understands the need for fast, accessible food on campus. As a former student, he often wished for a 24/7 pizza option.
“In college, we ate so much pizza, and I always thought it would be great to have something that dispensed pizza anytime. Now, that dream has come true,” Pal said.
The vending machine officially opened on February 25. It uses a refrigerator to store pizzas before robotic technology takes over, cooking each pizza in three minutes.
Pizzaforno is a Toronto-based franchise with approximately 40 machines across Canada. The Kelowna machine will be restocked every few days to ensure a steady supply of fresh pizzas.
This new addition to Okanagan College promises to be a game-changer for late-night cravings and quick meals on the go.
