EDF India and Actis Join Forces to Boost Smart Metering in India’s Power Sector

by sthv

EDF India has partnered with Actis, a global leader in sustainable infrastructure investment, to roll out smart metering infrastructure across India. The collaboration will establish a dedicated platform company to manage Advanced Metering Infrastructure Service Provider (AMISP) concessions, highlighting the shared commitment of both organizations to support India’s energy sector.

The initiative combines EDF India’s expertise in energy solutions with Actis’ experience in infrastructure investment to modernize India’s power distribution systems. This effort aligns with the Indian government’s National Smart Metering Project, part of the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS), which aims to install 250 million smart meters by 2025. Smart meters are expected to enhance operational efficiency, reduce energy losses, and improve the financial health of power distribution companies (DISCOMs).
