Jupiter Electric Mobility (JEM), the electric vehicle division of the Jupiter Group, has unveiled its new electric light commercial vehicle (e-LCV), the JEM TEZ, and opened a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Pithampur, Indore. This expansion marks a significant move in the company’s strategy to strengthen its position in the commercial electric vehicle market and boost local production.
The JEM TEZ features a certified range of over 190 kilometers and boasts a peak motor power of 80kW. It has a payload capacity of 1.05 tons and supports rapid charging, offering a range of over 100 kilometers in just an hour with a CCS2 charger. Designed primarily for last-mile logistics and urban freight, the vehicle is priced at ₹10.35 lakh (ex-showroom).
JEM’s goal is to achieve a revenue of Rs 100 crore in its first year with the launch of the Tez. The company expects to sell 400 units of the vehicle in its first year and plans to produce between 8,000 and 10,000 vehicles annually at its new Pithampur facility.
Vivek Lohia, Managing Director of Jupiter Group, highlighted that the company’s existing infrastructure made it the right time to introduce an electric vehicle that aligns with their sustainability-driven mission. “Sustainability is at the heart of our group’s vision, and all our products are designed with this principle in mind,” Lohia stated. The company has invested Rs 150 crore in the EV business, utilizing its current infrastructure to expand operations and support production.
As part of its national expansion plans, JEM aims to launch the Tez e-LCV in major cities such as Bengaluru, Delhi, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Chennai, where demand for electric vehicles is rising. In addition to vehicle sales, JEM is focusing on building an integrated electric vehicle ecosystem, partnering with companies to provide charging infrastructure, financing options, and after-sales support. These collaborations will help expand JEM’s market reach and speed up the shift to sustainable mobility in India.
The new Pithampur facility, which will initially produce 8,000 to 10,000 e-LCVs annually, represents a key milestone for both JEM and India’s sustainable mobility future. Lohia emphasized that the facility’s advanced technology and manufacturing capabilities would set new industry standards, contribute to economic growth, and create jobs. JEM is aiming for ambitious growth, with plans for at least double the output year over year, as well as expanding its product lineup to meet changing market demands.
In addition, JEM has partnered with various companies, including Porter, Pulse Energy, Battwheel, and Tapfin, to establish a comprehensive EV ecosystem that supports the growth of electric vehicle adoption. These partnerships will provide necessary charging infrastructure, financing, and after-sales services, reinforcing JEM’s position in the electric vehicle market in India.
Jupiter Electric Mobility is committed to promoting green mobility and reducing India’s carbon footprint. By developing high-performance electric vehicles with long-lasting batteries and fast-charging capabilities, JEM is positioning itself as a leader in the Indian EV market. The company’s focus on innovation and sustainability makes it a key player in India’s transition to clean, affordable transportation solutions, aligning with the country’s push for environmental sustainability and energy efficiency.
