NTPC has announced the successful completion of its 300 MW Shambuki Burj-2 Solar PV Project through its subsidiary, NTPC Green Energy (NGEL). The final 18.32 MW of the project became operational on March 1, 2025, marking a key milestone. With this, NTPC’s total installed and commercial capacity now stands at 77,411.50 MW, as reported in a recent regulatory filing.
The Shambuki Burj-2 Solar PV Project, located in Bikaner, Rajasthan, has been activated in phases. The first phase (150 MW) began on September 29, 2022, followed by the second phase (98.78 MW) on September 30, 2024, and the third phase (32.90 MW) on October 31, 2024. The final 18.32 MW capacity was the last to come online, completing the entire 300 MW project.
