ABB has officially acquired Siemens’ Wiring Accessories business in China, marking a significant step in expanding its presence in the smart building sector. This deal, expected to generate over $150 million in revenue by 2024, includes a broad range of products, an extensive distribution network covering 230 cities, and a skilled team of 350 employees.
The acquisition is expected to boost ABB’s margins and enhance its product offerings, which now include wiring accessories, smart home systems, smart door locks, and other home automation solutions. These products will continue to be sold under the Siemens brand through a licensing agreement. With this expanded product portfolio and distribution reach, ABB is in a strong position to deliver integrated, innovative solutions for modernizing buildings, improving energy efficiency, and addressing global challenges such as reducing carbon emissions.
