Mobility Solutions Limited (MSL), a subsidiary of the JCBL Group, has expanded its manufacturing facility in Batauli, Punjab. The company aims to strengthen its market presence by offering advanced composite solutions for a range of industries. The new facility spans 41,700 square meters, with a 12,000 square meter covered area. Originally focused on producing Glass-Reinforced Plastic (GRP), the facility will now provide cutting-edge composites for sectors such as railways, automotive, defense, aerospace, and infrastructure. This expansion marks an important milestone in MSL’s growth, highlighting its commitment to innovation and sustainability. Commercial production at the upgraded plant began in December 2024, with full operational capacity expected by July 2025.
The Batauli plant, initially set up in 2004 for internal use, has transformed into a key center for advanced composites. It now supplies materials for metro projects, railways, and international clients like Alstom and Wabtec. The plant’s strategic location, near other JCBL Group manufacturing sites, ensures access to a skilled workforce and efficient transportation. With more than 150 employees, MSL plans to hire more staff and introduce new product lines, contributing to both local and national economic growth.
The expanded facility will play a vital role in diversifying MSL’s product range. Key industries such as railways, automotive, defense, aerospace, and infrastructure will benefit from the new offerings. A Centre of Excellence will be established at the plant, integrating research and development, prototyping, tooling, manufacturing, and testing under one roof. This integrated approach will streamline processes and accelerate the development of advanced composite solutions for various sectors.
To meet increasing demand, the plant aims to triple its production capacity. This growth will allow MSL to produce lightweight, durable, and low-maintenance composites that support sustainability. The company is focused on environmentally-friendly manufacturing practices, positioning itself as a leader in high-performance materials that contribute to technological progress and environmental responsibility.
The Batauli facility will also incorporate eco-friendly initiatives such as renewable energy systems, water conservation methods, and waste reduction programs. A solar energy system is being developed to further promote sustainability. These green practices reflect MSL’s commitment to reducing its environmental footprint and supporting global sustainability goals.
