Hero Future Energies (HFE) has launched a green hydrogen plant in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh. The facility aims to integrate green hydrogen with piped natural gas (PNG) and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). The plant will primarily serve Rockman Industries, a major company within the Hero Group. The inauguration took place on Monday, with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu officially opening the plant, according to Hero Future Energies.
Rockman Industries, known as India’s leading alloy wheel manufacturer, produces 17 million two-wheeler wheels and 1.5 million four-wheeler wheels annually. Rahul Munjal, Chairman and Managing Director of Hero Future Energies, emphasized the importance of the new plant, stating, “This facility is a key step forward, combining green hydrogen with LPG, helping industries reduce emissions in their most difficult operations.”
The project is expected to speed up the adoption of green hydrogen in industries and support the growth of India’s green hydrogen sector. Ujjwal Munjal, Managing Director of Rockman Industries, also expressed future plans to incorporate more green hydrogen into their processes and work with HFE on advancing renewable energy technologies.
